Fun with Life Draining weapons Kreskin is wielding Songmaster, a weapon with drain life (aka vampiric). Whenever you hit something alive with it, in addition to getting a few hp back (the gain isn't very substantial in Entroband), you get the message "Monster is weakened", which I had always thought meant their maximum HPs are reduced. Usually characters cut through the monsters fast enough that you don't really get to see what's going on, but Combat Echizen is an exception. Not really very many HP as far as major unique monsters go, and he's fond of making himself invulnerable, blinking away, and healing himself. Kreskin has had real trouble putting Echizen away, but the weakening effect must be starting to add up, because Echizen is down to 7 stars, but it shows him as being at full health.
