Straight to the anti-melee cave right at level 1, armed with a bushel of iron spikes. Got to level 26 or so in short order, and was lucky in getting a Feanorian Lamp of Darkness!

Then came the Bubble Vault in the Dragon Caves--BAM! Took a looooong time given the one rod of stone to mud I had (I had to let it recharge every single time). I had two scrolls of *destruction*, and no less a personage than the Unicorn of Order in the vault. Fortunately, some educated *destruction* took care of the Unicorn and Yog-sothoth, along with a couple of other nasties, while leaving the tastiest loot there. And what a catch?

Amber (which was immediately wearable thanks to the lamp of darkness), Fiona, Boromir, and some stuff to sell. Amber was really the amazing take of the moment. This all at 2 hours of gameplay.

Shortly thereafter, a dark elven warlock at the top of the dragon caves drops a scroll of artifact creation! In revenge though, the artifact created was somewhat meh--it's the Falcon Sword "Wings of Heaven", which has +wis, +chr, and +rSound. No brands, but the pval got brought up to +3.

Early poison needle find also put a good number of great bile wyrms and great ice wyrms down, yielding an occasional good piece of loot.

Oh yes, the no cut attribute of zombies is really nice, especially when eating those wounding spells. Only disadvantage to the zombie so far is the low magic device skill.

Hitting level 41 = Bunshin (multi-shadow), which is awesome. Now to get to clvl 45 for the enlightenment ability of Detect Near.
