OK, joke time. I'm a trump caster with the option allow summoning turned off. So, this means my "pets" come in hostile always.

I figured Trump Spiders would be good for a level or two, and decided poison resistance would be key to this strategy. In the end, sustain strength is also required as about CL17 one starts getting giant red scorpions! I was down to 13 strength before I finally powered up to CL25 to pick a stat boost!

Trump Animals is completely worthless for xp ... I'll see how Trump Kamikaze fairs.

So, Summon Monsters. This is much slower xp wise, and the spell is way more expensive. The monsters are much weaker than the spiders, and the spoilers here must be grape jellies. Dunno ... but I kept getting my life drained.

I tried playing with Phantasmals ... 19hp was the lowest I went on a double move. And those beasts often get first moves on me. Perhaps my AC is high enough now, or will be shortly once I do DQI for the ring of flames. Plus, the Beast is worth only 80xp or so. Not much, but if I can kill a couple thousand of them? And Kamikaze's are too weak to be worth much xp. Plus, the ball lightnings might drain my dex.

Sigh. Why is Chengband so difficult?

Next go might be a Spectre ... I forgot that choice. Low strength will be an issue, but they have resist poison *and* hold life. Plus, Trump Spying makes up for the lost intrinsic, and for the end game, it might be useful to summon monsters inside of walls were they can be bottled up.
