No slings in shop. That's bad news for a slinger.
Tried throwing lead shots at local fauna - no effect.

It's a given that "rattlesnake" translates to "death to hobbits" in a western tongue. Avoid.
Grey snakes, on the other hand, die easily enough. No potions used this time. Not that I had any left.

Bumped into a town merchant. He bumped back. I'm sure my arm will mend in time.
Finally, a sling! And what a bargain - 13 shots for all of my remaining gold.
Page 6.
Pongo keeps interrupting my exploration. That's so... so shrewd of him.
Avoiding nighttime whenever possible. It's not good for my eyesight... and for my health in general.

Crows of Udun, your squawking will not avail you! As long as you're on the other side of a long, thin corridor.
