Restrictions: no FF quests, no summoning, just good old-fashioned fighting, magic devices, and bard songs.

What else can I say? So far, life sucks: stats suck, fighting abilities suck, I've got about two usable bard songs (which also suck), hitpoints really really suck, and I made the incredibly wise career move of quaffing an unidentified potion early in my career that gave me the Troll Blood corruption.

Survived the early and mid levels through judicious use of a Wand of Noxious Cloud. Now I've got a Broad Sword of Extra Attacks and a Ring of Damage so I can at least make a showing against foes with melee.

Next step I guess is to find some more eq to raise my hit points. I'm going to get blasted by a Disenchantment Ball Trap here pretty soon, I know it.

Impressive that you've managed some decent stats without a flipped amulet of doom. I had horrible problems with mana and HP (and I wasn't even bold enough to try a hermit) until getting one.

None of the drum spells work versus uniques, which will make life tough later. Why no points in prayer? I thought divine aim + heroic ballad was the only way to get enough firepower to kill the higher end bad guys and I didn't see any possible way it would be enough to kill Melkor.

Now for the big question -
How does Yeek Hermit Bard compare with the Hobbit Mimic? Could Mimic actually be a weaker class than Bard?
