One of them dropped Anarion, which I didn't use until after the quest. Also, Hammerhand was gotten from one of the Grendels--I was using a Crown of the Magi for the basics up until Anarion.

No real summons except for the bajillion fire ants from the Queen Ants as usual. It's nice having stunning blows for their apparent reduction of enemy spell skills.

Strangely enough, I'm leaving my favorite armor (Shiva's Avatar's Jacket) at home right now, because the Dragon Shield I'm using for rDark and rDisenchantment is too heavy. Plus, the +3 Wis and Decrease Mana Consumption of Incanus is actually working impressively well with the high-end, mana-hungry Craft spells.

As always, I am impressed with the speed with which achieve power in Hengband. I'm guessing you do some early *careful* exploration of the Dragon Caves. Do you lose many characters this way? Every time I try it I seem to die quickly and horribly, generally after finding something particularly nice :-) So most of my characters turn the Autoscummer on L30 of Angband for about 10-12 hours of playtime before they are able to attempt the Cloning Pits. (The scummer rarely helps out, but serves to keep me interested). You seem to do it so quickly ... Any tips? :-)

True to my risky playstyle, and staying up way longer than I should with the exam of my life approaching, BoardSmasher #1 got his face torn off by a Warp Demon due to Careless-and-Tired Syndrome.

Well, BoardSmasher II very quickly got himself up to power, and before long, I will be able to nail the Serpent itself once I accumulate enough pots of *Healing* and Life, and also finish annihilating the dangerous Dungeon Master uniques. Next post hopefully not for a little while at least, because I really, really should be studying. Makes me tempted to rename the Serpent to "USMLE Step 1 Board Exam Director" :)
