This is the character that spent a few hundred million turns scumming the town for enough gold to buy the +8 boots of speed that she's currently wearing. It was a... *unique* experience.

I thought you were joking until I read your turns count.

Well done :-) Looks like it was worth it.

The borg can be setup to do that for you, but only for some older version :/

Lots of progress in few days. Most resists covered, which is rare for me, and this is the first mage I've had to legitimately get Kelek's :D

Ag, it's this problem again: I don't know what to wear. Some nice finds, this is the best non-cheating mage I've had.

On 6.4.2008 23:54 PowerDiver wrote:
Do you have the discipline to not fight nether breathers? Teleport other or destruction. Then you could wear the dragonscale for rDis. It is tragic to let artifacts be disenchanted even by accident. Barahir is normally obsolete when you get trickery. Use a ring of int to make up for Ingwe.

I don't play mages, but it appears to me you are done. You have cLevel 50, int and con at 18/200, +30 speed, and resists covered. Every turn you don't fight Sauron is a turn you might be stupid, unlucky, or careless and die. Don't take too long. Don't hesitate to use destruction. Better to lose a few items than to die to hounds. You need to collect healing and restore mana, but you can't help but find some with 30 levels to go.

On 7.4.2008 00:53 Quendus wrote:
The problem with that idea is that it leaves me with no rElec...
Also, while you were typing that I went back to the dungeon, and came back with Elessar and Gil-Galad, the latter of which I can't use without losing half of my CON bonus.

On 7.4.2008 01:59 PowerDiver wrote:
Oops. Sorry I missed that. However, I would definitely *not* wear Elessar without disenchantment resistance. Losing AC is sad, but losing (+7,+7) on an amulet or (+8,+8) on gloves is tragic. If you threw away trickery already, maybe go back to Ingwe + Barahir. I guess you still need Celeborn to be ready for the endgame.

On 7.4.2008 03:05 Quendus wrote:
I still have trickery, but there's no real way to wield it without losing INT, CON, or telep (I don't want my failrate to appear again). However, I can always go into the dungeon with the DSM as a swap (with relec covered by Ingwe), like I'm doing with Colannon.

On 7.4.2008 22:29 Quendus wrote:
Lots more nice finds on the way down, including a nice cloak of rNether...
Equipment still not ideal, of course, but I'm on the way down.

On 8.4.2008 00:36 Quendus wrote:
More nice finds - I was looking forward to getting Gothmog and Westernesse, but unfortunately I can't use either without losing HLife (ok) and lots of HP (not ok). Still diving, looking forward to Narya...

I'm quite happy with this arrangement - the excessive weight is unfortunate, and of course my stealth is out of the window, but my melee and shooting are much improved. Still hoping for a way to get another immunity, and wondering what I should sell...

So I found two rings of power. Yay! Down, down, down we go :)

Killed Sauron, wasn't too difficult. I'm slightly more nervous of Morgoth because of his KILL_WALL flag (and because for a while I was considering facing him with +28 base speed and risking a double-move death). Down we go, unless someone has a better idea for my equipment and is a fast typer...

On 8.4.2008 21:14 Quendus wrote:
Heeee, that was easy. Lots of mana storms, some of them round corners while he couldn't see me. Most of the time was spent outside of my sea of runes, where phase door took me. Going deeper to search for the One, maybe :o

So yeah. I won, got careless, and let myself die. Not too annoyed about it because all I was doing was wandering around vaguely hoping to find Ringil, Feanor, and the one ring.
