A profoundly devious, sophisticated killer, Zachard Bvil got bored with murdering merchants and drunks in the town, and decided to dive for more challenging fare, so he could murder mercenaries and veterans when he had more experience. But he liked killing, so continued hunting in the dungeon.

Zachard Bvil is yet another example why half-elves should be gently throttled at birth, and Human-Elf relationships should be punishable by death by flogging.

Found some decent equipment. Holcolleth is particularly useful, although perhaps not as powerful as I initially expected. +2 speed doesn't amount to too much. The +2 Int is probably more valuable to me.

The whip of extra attacks is the best weapon I've found so far, but really I need to get something a little more potent, or a couple of rings of damage.

Stat gain next on agenda.

Finding good artifacts, Al-pharazon the Golden was courteous enough to drop Cambeleg. Equipment shuffling has left me without Confusion resist.

Found Elendil before the Phial.

Refusing to enter new areas without Haste, Resistance and Shield cast.

Still collecting artifacts. Uniques are falling beneath my murderous might. Furtherest I've taken a character without cheating.

Haven't updated the dump yet, but found Ring of Barahir which is superior to the Resist Poison ring.

Nether resist is a priority. Had a run in with Azriel who NB'd me down to 100hp. I sharply retreated.

A better speed ring would be lovely.

Got my revenge on Azriel, who dropped nothing of value.

Now at level 50. Have all resistances except sound, shards and confuse.

All resists covered, sacraficing telepathy.

Immune to fire and cold.

19 speed unhasted, 29 hasted.

Taking on uniques one at a time, using Mass Banishment from Eonwe and rods of Teleport Other to tackle tough foes on my terms.

Maeglin was a tough, but profitable fight. He summoned half a dozen uniques (all teleported away against their will).

When he perished he dropped Gondor, Fingolfin and a Shield of Preservation. All of which are now equiped.

Other uniques haven't been as kind. Atlas dropped goods only.

Is Eonwe good enough to travel Morgy with? I haven't taken him before, is this character strong enough?

On 19.4.2008 17:31 estie@gmx.net wrote:
You are strong enough, the question is if you have enough healing resources to last the fight. With better equipment, the fight would be shorter and youd take less damage. With more !*healing* and !life you could survive longer.
Since this is your first try, Id advise getting more - either better stuff or more potions. In any case, best of luck!

He is tough enough, when you factor in that you have 20 dLevels to go.
You are unlikely to be able to dive fast enough not to improve your kit. :)
Carry some form of destruction. Sometimes you want to eradicate an undead
pit or a pack of hounds. I recommend at least two staves of destruction.
You should also carry a stack of staves of dispel evil, not because you need
them, but because it is oh so fun to let loose in a dragon pit with immunity.

AC is nice and high, 220ish with shield. Got into a scrap with the Tarrasque, who was incapable of hitting me with his melee attacks (perhaps the RNG was on my side this time)

I'd love to find a better set of boots, but I'd need to wear Arvedui instead of Thalkettoth to cover nexus + shards, so they'd have to be a very nice set of boots. Similar predicament with my bow slot as Amrod covers my only electric resist.

Which should I wear, my Shadow Cloak of the Magi, or Holcolleth? +10ac or the slightly impotent +2 speed?

Ringil solves many problems. In hindsight, would you have wanted to fight Morgoth with the equipment/resources you had back when you were asking if you were strong enough ?

Yeah... although if I found a decent source of +10ish speed I might have gone with Eonwe instead of Ringil.

It was a tough fight. At one time he reduced me down to about 50hp.
