I recently went back to Angband - specifically ToME - after over 6 months of "abstaining" from this. With this character I went old school with a Warrior (Sword Master) (= dependent on rods among other things) with a splash of praying magic (Tulkas). I wanted to finish all dungeons - most of the later ones I just power dived down to the end monsters (if any). So these dungeons took up a very small amount of play time really.

I went with the Gothmog set for a while, but thought I'd take slightly less combat damage for better item generation (Gothmog Blade gives -20 to luck ...or -13 when you have the set).

Close calls ... well I had a few on special levels where you can't teleport, but Stone Prison solved most prob's.

I think I'll take on the Super-Extra with Chili quests later on, but I'll still die as a winner. =)
