Incredibly stupid. I'd gone back to the surface after being down at 127 to drop artifacts. I had accidentally reset recall so I had to walk all the way back down. Cleared out an entire room of multi-hued dragons and was picking up the last few treasures when the hounds walked in. I thought, "No problem, I'll just be a moment." So stupid. Alas, my best character ever dies a typically careless death and I've still never found the One ring. Try, try, again, I suppose.
