I tried playing with Chaos Vortices for good mutations and managed to score Harden to Elements both times. But it came so late that my regen was reduced to 0 and I failed to pick up the berserker mutation, so I had to attempt to clear. Alas, it removed pretty quickly both times. I was more interested in either telepathy or berserk activation anyway, and decided to give up.

Warriors have it tough. They do marginally more damage then other classes (much less than samurai, and less than monks even), have about 10% more hp, but have no abilities whatsoever. I'm playing loose with the healing, and that will only get worse. I can't fathom taking on Tiamat at the moment as that would probably require 10 !Healing to do (which is 25% of my precious stockpile!). If I can score a couple more rods of healing, I'll swap in gloves of magic device mastery and try to go that way.

I'm waiting for the Palantir so that I can swap in Terror Mask.

The first one took 3 activations to go (which is scary!) but the second zap worked the first time. So only 2 !Healing were actually consumed. The other downside is that now I can no longer use my rods of healing, so I might as well push up my damage as high as possible. 1210 damage per round (plus about 60 from my tentacles) is pretty darn respectable. I would like to dual wield, but that does not seem to be in the cards for this guy.

I'm still thinning uniques with the Palantir. Maybe 50 more to go at this depth, and then I can move on to DL80 of Angband.

Holy Carp! Eonwe is actually easy to activate. I've gone 10 for 10 just trying it out. I guess I figured it would be impossible (The Jewel takes 15 attempts to use by comparison). Mass Genocide is really nice for vaults, and it seems to be the powerful version equivalent to the scroll (which is 3x more useful than the biffed Death spell).

DL88 quest was only Azathoth, but it dropped Julian. I thought I would never get my Con up, but swapping Thorin and Julian for Celegorm and BDSM is a net +8 Str and +4 Con. I still keep all resistances covered thanks to a lucky light resist on Thorin.

I just offed the Oberon and Sauron dynamic duo! At one point, I quaffed !Healing 6 turns in a row, as Oberon just wouldn't lay off the heavy stuff. But dishing out 1600 damage per round was more than he could bear!
