Fortunately just after mutating a bit on vapor i got Switch location mutation which i didnt even know existed (maybe its new) Hopefully that will be very useful for close range melee dude.

Went for Hermes cus it had some speed bonus and stealth which i though would come in handy when wielding slowing weapons like this class has to. Not being able to get slowed is nice i suppose too. Picked the fleet footed as 1st special hoping it would help closing in on long range snipers.

Havent seen a single heavy lance in shops and used just normal lance which is better damage wise than my current weapon but this one activates for haste and has ele immu and is near in damage if slays work. AC bonus is less and weapon dice bonus too tho now that i got it.

Got bored a while and played archer (i was frustrated not finding any resistances) but the class has not been changed and poseidon melt armor bonus does not work (tested with probing and melee just to make sure at least that works) so i have to freeze that char for now. I was hoping the arrow creating would have been streamlined somehow to avoid massive inventory spam with different bonus arrows and now with the reworked enchantment its even more pain. Imo go with less arrows created with set bonus range ie only +0+0 arrows +5+5 +10+10 or something and reduce the amounts. Give improved rates of arrow destruction for archer so they dont have to carry 2x100 stacks to run around (they weigh too much).

Resistances still a bitch. Have found some items but cant wear any cus it will leave vital resistances open. Have to find something to cover chaos/nether. Something is still ticking off enemies .. not sure if its mighty blow or my annoying tentacles or what or do they just tick off on their own.

Maybe haste counter should reset every time you activate it at least? Although did have some troubles with certain uniques later when there was no mobs to activate spree.

Anyways with boosted damage after castle started diving in angband again and bit later finally was able to fill all the resistances. Havent been able to switch anything since though despite finding some nifty items. Doesnt matter though damage is good for these levels and with resistances covered its all good although my stats are quite bad with this setup.

Hit 40 just with nidhogg and went for evasion. +AC and +hd were tempting but there are lots of breath attacks around and i figured it be open without double resistances some times and lack of reflection might increase incoming ranged damages in some tight spots.

Gold income is a lot better now than it was before so perhaps tuning down prices might be in order? Suppose it comes from shop tweaks and spell books and such being moved up in dungeons. Maybe put 3rd books to ~5k gold only?

I'm curious on comments that removing bad mutations is easy? is that even possible? From my experience in Heng constantly removing moronic mutation it pretty much always removed all my other mutations first so all my chars ended up without any. Most mutations are useless or bad already imo.

Nor was acquiring new ones outside potions that attractive. Only vapor quest basically. Besides for melee chars all those "extra attack" etc mutations not so attractive either. They just activate unwanted monster abilities and reflective auras for basically no damage.

1/3 damage reduction to breaths seems a bit overpowerful even 10% would be good enough with the earthquake boon. Stack of Rod of drain life give back health quite nicely to a char with good speed and no other way to regen. Could be capped to 50 healing /zap imo. Basically can blast uniques with it and stay positive if they dont cast.

Found this rather dicy dagger in my inv 7d5 of slaying. quite nicely up from 1d4 i'd say.

Mauler is tad boring with not being able to use almost any gear and played all game using just 2 weapons. +blows all weapons +damage useless and lack of resist weapons or shields forces me to play pretty much same set all the time. Seems like its just massive grind for iron ball or the new war hammer. Nothing changes weapon weighs so even some uber artifact creation super weap would still be useless. Using vampiric weapons is kinda bad for same reasons so basically the draining rods make the class playable otherwise would need too many potions.

DL84Q Gothmog i noticed that Giant strength potion(intentional?) does give +1 melee hit even to a Mauler. He went down in 6 rounds i think. Much harder job was to clear his massive entourage.

Weapon weight presents a bit of a problem carrying other stuff u need without losing speed. Basically my current Armor + inventory is at the limit. And im not even carrying huge stacks of stuff or ammo at all.

Found Falcon sword of +5 attacks. Suitable class and tonberry gloves ftw.

Autodestroyer. Leave excellent is nice but now problem becomes how do i get it to autodestroy some class of excellent items? Like for weapons no weapon is useful to me since i only need the 2 artifact ones.

Dont really want to turn leave excellent off though cus prefer to have it on for other type items like rings/amulets and such.
