"Click"? Are you one of those rare people who uses a mouse for roguelikes?

(Also, were you tired when you were playing? Most characters actually die from either hubris or exhaustion, and getting the wrong direction sounds like the latter.)

I knew I was too keyed up (excuse the pun) and was at point when I should have taken a break from the action. My clicks per minute were way too high, so I reacted a bit too instinctively rather than pausing and thinking.

Normally I'm bopping along at maybe a keypress per 1-2 seconds. Once I'm in the bottom half of the dungeon, I should probably cut this down to a key press per every 5-10 seconds, particularly when I see there is a big bad monster in the area.

Honestly, up until this point I hadn't seen a dragon breath two turns in a row. They had all breathed once at range and then did something else for a least 5-10 or more turns. So, once I had survived the first breath attack I instinctively felt I had a couple turns to be creative and perhaps stay on the level. Nope.
