Still going with the dragon possessing characters sicne Im sure they can become powerful with the breath weapons and massive HP. However I just got a Green Thunderlord corpse, which has over twice the HP that my mature gold dragon had. However, thunderlords dont use the 6 ring dragon setup, so my eq stinks right now(since i was using the 6 ring setup before). Ill just use this body till I can get a decent dragon one.

Thalkettoth got destroyed by a trap of curse armor =/...hate those things...luckily Golgorach dropped a nice cloak though 2 immunites + res fear and res chaos.
Note that I have a corpse of ancient red D in my house, not using it at the moment because I think thunderlord has better HP and I dont have any rings I am dying to wear at the moment

Still searching for a replacement for Thalkettoth. I'm working the Land of Rhun right now, mostly just looking for towns.

On another note, anyone have any advice for skills? I am thinking it might be better to stop increasing corpse-preservation and instead go for something else, like magic-device(especially since beornings have bad magic device) Any ideas?

This character is coming along nicely. I am getting resistance holes filled up as well, except I only get res lighting from celegorm...which is quite annoying because when I revert to a dragon form I wont be able to wear celegorm.

Does the ability "extra max blow(2)" work with martial arts?

On 1.12.2003 09:53 spitfyr@gmx.net wrote:
I am very sure "extra max blow" does not work for Barehand-combat.

Hmm, 7 Skill Points, that's not much yet. First I would increase Symbiosis to 1.000, then you are be able to wear on. Even if it may just a small mold, it is better than nothing.

You may increase Summoning to 1.000 too and be able to use Partial Totems.

Increasing Magic Device is a good idea. I thinkof rods of healing later, where you want to be sure, that activating works if you need it. But Combat is also an option since Fighting ability is still somewhat low for someone who has to trust in his meele.

Your Magic Device skill is at "Poor" right now, which means even if you pump Magic-Device pump to its max it's still not going to be enough to use for big fights (you need Heroic for any reliability at all (~5% fails), and one of my Assassins starting at Very Good only goes up to Heroic with ~40 points).

I normally drop Corpse-Preservation at around 10.0, but that's just me. With 14*5+7 = 77 skill points left, not counting Fumblefingers and Potion of Learning, with some that have to be used for Barehand and Possession (32 to be exact), or 45 to spare, I'd consider putting points into Prayer. I personally recommend Manwe, since he grants +speed for free, and at level 20 in prayer Manwe's Blessing boosts your +tohit bonus by 24, which more than doubles your +tohit.

I finished Moria. Still looking for a replacement for Thalkettoth, although not wearing any body armor yields a hefty AC bonus.

I like the the idea about worshiping Manwe to get +to hit, although it isnt that bad right now because hammerhand gives the power of berserk, which is useful for increasing +to hit.
Is there a way to start worshiping Manwe?

Im really liking this character, only lvl 40 yet 1000 HP, and I am soon to get a body with even more HP. I am doing Erebor right now. I really like Erebor because all the dragons are nice exp and hopefull I will get a corpse from a draco or wyrm soon. However IIRC dragons do not have a tool spot, so I wont be able to wear climbing gear :/

On 4.12.2003 04:57 wacko_chipmunk@hotmail.com wrote:
Finally got a drakolisk corpse, more HP and the extra ring spots really increase my melee damage, however, the lack of climbing is kinda sad. Climibing makes dungeons with mountains sooo easy, just hit the monster till you are low on HP and then step back into the wall and heal...I would almost go back to a thunderlord corpse just for the dungeons with mountains (unfortunately ill have to find another though, my green thunderlord corpse rotted away)

Weee, I kill Glaurung and got his body. Ill probably use it for a long time, it has excellent HP, good breaths, and summon high dragons. Soon I will get the save Gondolin quest, and hopefully I can handle it.

On another note, one annoying this is I found a ring of speed +10, but then the game crashed and I lost it

This is fun stuff, haveing 4k HP and being able to summon ancient D. I think my next step will be to get the helm of knowledge, for ease of identitfying. I hope I can find some of those randart rings with high + to speed and EA

Potion of New Life basically re-rolls all your level-up hit dies. Practically, it translates to a possible 100 HP increase (well, 33 for you since you're possessing). Not really worth the 2mil, IMO.

Look in Old Forest, Orc Caves, Moria, Illusory Castle, and Land of Mountains for a Dungeon market with a Speed Ring Shop, and then steal-scum it like there's no tomorrow. You'll easily be able to find 4 +8 speed/attacks rings. (Set up your macros).

Er... Glarung doesn't seem to have as many resists as when I fought him, lol... only fire and poison normal resist?

Unfortunately, I have been to every lvl in all those dungeons, and have found 6 dungeon towns, but none of them have speed ring stores...

Also about god quests, I got one, but cant seem to find the god-artifact in it, is it worth finding?...is the reward an increase just in points, or an increase in the increase value (the .5)?

As for Glaurungs resists - yep thats it , look in the r_info file

About god quest:

The mean thing about god quest is the articfact is only generated like preserve mode off. So if you miss it, it is gone forever and you can't get any further god quests. Yet worther unlike other artifacts it can be picked up by monsters! This is espacially bad for Manwe with all these ghosts in his temples.

There are five god quests. The first four will increase your prayer 5 times your prayer skill step, so 2.5 in your case the last quest 10 times your prayer skill step. 15.000 at prayer is somewhat usefull for everyone I think. And if you don't know where to waste the rest of your skill points, having Manwe prayer at 25 or 35 really makes a lot of usefull spells. Since you get 2/3 Air and 1/2 Conv. spells for free!

Heheheheh, got a Great Wyrm of Power corpse by using Glaurungs summon ability. Now I have an arsenal of breath weapons. This character is going rather slowly, I could probably dive down deeper in Angband and whack Sauron.

Got Anacalagons body on the Dim Gates lvl. I though Dim Gates was pretty hard, so I ended up just summonind loads of D and letting them to the work. Ancalagons body is pretty good, with 2000 more HP than the wyrm of power; however, wyrm of power has more "goodies" like resistances and such.

Havent really found any good worth eq lately, only thing Ive changed in a while is the amulet.....the extra mana is nice since I tend to summon D and let them to all the work. Still wish I could find some randart speed rings with +EA

Finally, the RNG was nice to me and gave me three nice +to speed and EA rings in one dive. I am preparing to head into the nether realm, but I havent gone in yet. My equipment is great except for the lack to +to hit. Unfortutately the ring 'Ethandi' is +18 damage not to hit..grrr.. and I need the +4 wisdom on the ring. Maybe ill try out that artifact creation scroll on an accuracy ring.

Is the ring of precognition any good? Does it do much? *ID* doesnt say anything about it....
