I dislike the Ring of Flare. It only increases stats, not hit and dam. My Warriors always use either rings that increase hit and damroll or give extra attacks. And I can get fire immunity from other sources.

However, I lost my Blood of Life to a *pit* full of those Spirits of Doom (got Hand of Doomed about six times and then mortally wounded or something).

Celebrated by scouring the Pits of Angband to maximize my exp.
